Follow Friday – Artisan Ancestors

Standard

I don’t think I have ever done a posting on Follow Friday so I thought I would today.

The other day I was listening to the Genies Down Under podcast on the ride into work when the hostess, Maria, started talking about other genealogy podcasts that she listens to. Two of the ones she talked about, The Genealogy Guys and Digging up your Roots, I am already subscribed to and listen to on a regular basis. However, the third one, Artisan Ancestors, was a new one for me.

So I thought I would try it out and see if I wanted to add it to my ever growing number of podcasts to which I listen.

Well, I am four episodes in and am very impressed.

The podcast is hosted by Jon Kay. The website describes the podcast as:

“Welcome to Artisan Ancestors, the podcast where I explore ways to research and understand the past. Whether you’re a local historian, genealogist or just interested in learning about the everyday creative lives of people and the things they made, this program is for you.”

So far, Jon has had 25 episodes and has had a wide range of topics such as: Connecticut Needlework, Appalachian Dulcimers, Catawba Potters as well as having some of our “Genealogy Royalty” in the form of Curt Witcher and Maureen Taylor.

He hasn’t had a new episode in more than a year, but I wanted to let everyone know about this podcast, so that you could listen to and enjoy the episodes that he has done so far. I most certainly would like for him to continue with this wonderful endeavor.

Please give him a listen and tell me what you think.

Hope you enjoyed, glad you stopped by and please come back again πŸ˜‰
